Welcome to the Pratt Lab blog! Dr. Kerri Pratt is an assistant professor in the Departments of Chemistry and Earth & Environmental Sciences and faculty associate of the Program in the Environment at the University of Michigan. We study the chemical interactions of atmospheric trace gases, particles, clouds, and snow, with a focus on the Polar Regions and wintertime environments. Our interdisciplinary research has relevance to climate change, air quality, and human health. As an analytical chemistry lab, we primarily apply novel mass spectrometry techniques to our field research. We invite you to follow our adventures in (and outside!) the lab!

Welcome Dr. Ying-Hsuan Lin and Dr. Siyuan Wang!

Welcome Dr. Ying-Hsuan Lin and Dr. Siyuan Wang as post-docs in the Pratt Lab!

Dr. Ying-Hsuan Lin is here as part of the prestigious Michigan Society of Fellows, which admitted 11 post-doctoral fellows this year for disciplines across the entire University of Michigan.  This three-year fellowship is a combo non-tenure-track assistant professor/postdoctoral fellow position that provides greater independence than a typical postdoctoral position, as well as two semesters of teaching.  Ying-Hsuan comes here from Prof. Jason Surratt's group at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

Dr. Siyuan Wang recently completed his PhD from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.  In 2012 he received a Fulbright Junior Research Award to complete halogen modeling research in Prof. Rainer Volkamer's group at the University of Colorado.  The results of this work were recently published in PNAS!
