Welcome to the Pratt Lab blog! Dr. Kerri Pratt is an assistant professor in the Departments of Chemistry and Earth & Environmental Sciences and faculty associate of the Program in the Environment at the University of Michigan. We study the chemical interactions of atmospheric trace gases, particles, clouds, and snow, with a focus on the Polar Regions and wintertime environments. Our interdisciplinary research has relevance to climate change, air quality, and human health. As an analytical chemistry lab, we primarily apply novel mass spectrometry techniques to our field research. We invite you to follow our adventures in (and outside!) the lab!

Welcome Nicole, Garret, Annie, Guy, Logan, and Madeline!

Welcome winter semester graduate rotation students Nicole Olson and Garret Verwer! Nicole received her B.S. degree in Chemistry in 2016 from Edgewood College, and Garret received his B.S. degree in Chemistry in 2016 from Mercyhurst University.

Belated welcome to Annie Barget, a senior undergraduate student (major: Biomolecular Sciences), who joined the Pratt Lab in Fall 2016 to study Arctic snow chemical composition using ion chromatography!

Welcome to new Pratt Lab undergraduate students Guy, Logan, and Madeline! Guy Burke is a junior undergraduate student (majors: Chemistry & Spanish) who previously completed research in environmental engineering. Logan Vear and Madeline Parks are first-year undergraduate students who completed the Chem 125-Snow (General Chemistry Laboratory - Authentic Research Experience in Snow Chemistry) course with Prof. Pratt in Fall 2016.
