Welcome to the Pratt Lab blog! Dr. Kerri Pratt is an assistant professor in the Departments of Chemistry and Earth & Environmental Sciences and faculty associate of the Program in the Environment at the University of Michigan. We study the chemical interactions of atmospheric trace gases, particles, clouds, and snow, with a focus on the Polar Regions and wintertime environments. Our interdisciplinary research has relevance to climate change, air quality, and human health. As an analytical chemistry lab, we primarily apply novel mass spectrometry techniques to our field research. We invite you to follow our adventures in (and outside!) the lab!

Pratt Lab wins Ann Arbor Commuter Month Challenge!

And we wore green to celebrate our commitment to the environment! During the month of May, the Pratt Lab participated in the Ann Arbor Commuter Challenge. Pratt Lab members biked, walked, took the bus, carpooled, and telecommuted to reduce our environmental footprint. We had 100% participation from undergraduates (Anna Leemon), graduate students (Matt Gunsch, Ryan Cook, Nathaniel May, Rachel Kirpes, Becky Craig-on loan for this from the Ault Lab!) and postdoctoral researchers (Peter Peterson, Katie Kolesar, Siyuan Wang) who were working diligently in lab throughout the month of May. Altogether we logged an average of 48 trips and saved a total of 943 individual vehicle miles traveled!
